Growing up, I read many books where the main character’s parents were conveniently taken out of the story, or their siblings were just part of the background. My family is very important to me, and we’ve gone through many trials together, which made us stronger as a family. I don’t see enough healthy family dynamics in stories, and like you, I want to feel represented in fiction.
